Cinema One Originals movies dominate 10th Cinemanila award rites

Two of Cinema One Originals’ movies won at the 10th Cinemanila International Film Festival held Monday afternoon at the Kalayaan Hall of Malacanang Palace. Filmmaker Sherad Anthony Sanchez’s "Imburnal" took home the Lino Brocka Grand Prize in the Digital Lokal Division while film directors Jerrald Tarog and Ruel Dahis Antipuesto’s "Confessional" romped away with the Best SEA Film in the SEA Film Competition. It was a very exciting moment for Ronald Arguelles, head of Cinema One. "I was really nervous. Maraming magagaling na kalaban but I think Cinema One Originals produced commendable art pieces," said Arguelles. "Imburnal" is a new production which promises to be an undisputed winner in many international film festivals in the coming days while "Confessional" has been winning film awards here and abroad.
