Four people were killed, including a three-month old baby, and two others were hurt after a truck fell into a ravine in Mati City in Davao Oriental province, Friday.
Mati City police chief Candido Suralta identified three of the fatalities as Brian Mira, Joylyn Madula, and three-month-old baby Kurt Madula.
Suralta said the fourth fatality was just walking along the highway in Sitio Muñez, Barangay Mayo when the 10-wheeler truck ran him over and dragged him into the ravine.
The two injured victims who have been brought to the Davao Oriental Provincial Hospital were Elvie Palaca and Gerry Madula.
Suralta said Madula was in critical condition.
The police official said the driver could have lost control of the truck while speeding along the highway. The truck ( MVK 654) was registered to Friendship Trucking Marketing owned by a certain Ambil Juan.
