MANILA – A taxi driver brought a seemingly disturbed overseas Filipino worker who was carrying a huge amount of money to ABS-CBN.

The driver, Manuel Odera, said he picked up Rodolfo Reyes from the airport. Reyes recently arrived from Saudi Arabia.

Reyes reportedly refused to alight from the cab even after they traveled to Monumento in Caloocan City and back to Alabang in Muntinlupa City.

When he asked his passenger if he had the money to pay for his taxi fare, Reyes took out a bundle of US$100.

In a radio dzMM program hosted by Julius and Tintin Babao, they were able to get in touch with Reyes’ relatives in Manila.

Reyes’ wife, Evelyn, expressed her gratitude to the taxi driver.

She said her husband was probably suffering from homesickness. She explained that he rarely returns home for a vacation and when he does, he usually spends only one to two months with them in the Philippines.

maswerteng ofw
