Fifteen stones were removed from the left kidney of 33-year old Crisanto. Any moment soon, Erlie will be going under the same operation because of the pain he endures due to the malfunction of his kidney.
This Tuesday (June 9), stories of the few Filipinos who had been slowly suffering from the deadly stones will be uncovered in “The Correspondents.”
According to the Philippine Renal Disease Registry (PRDR), kidney failure is 10th leading cause of death among Filipinos.
Due to the habit of eating too much salty food and not drinking enough water, toxins have accumulated and became the deadly stones in the kidneys of Crisanto and Ernie, causing them pain and much expense.
